Terms and Conditions

These Terms are a legal agreement between you and us about the eBook, the app, and the bonus materials you have bought or been given access to. By buying, downloading, opening or using any part of the bundle, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the materials, and contact us for a refund within the window in section 9.

1. Who we are

The materials are published by [YOUR BUSINESS OR PERSONAL NAME] of [YOUR ADDRESS], Botswana ("we", "us", "our"). You can reach us at hello@pausehalt.com.

2. What these Terms cover

Everything in the bundle, which we call the Materials:

• the eBook Is Your Family Hurting You? (PDF);
• the PauseHalt app;
• any bonus workbooks, script packs, audio, checklists or other extras included in the offer;
• our sales pages and any email we send you in connection with the purchase.

"You" means the individual who purchased or was granted access.

3. This is not therapy or medical care

Specifically, you acknowledge and agree that:

(a) No professional relationship is created

Using the Materials does not create a therapist–client, counsellor–client, doctor–patient, coach–client or any other professional relationship between you and us.

(b) The Materials are not a substitute for professional care

They are not a replacement for therapy, counselling, medical treatment, medication, or the advice of a qualified health professional. If you are in treatment, do not stop, start, delay or change any treatment or medication because of anything you read or do here. Speak to your doctor or therapist first.

(c) We do not know your situation

The Materials are written for a general audience. We have no knowledge of your health, history, safety, relationships or circumstances, and cannot assess whether any exercise, script or suggestion is appropriate or safe for you. You are responsible for deciding what to use and what to leave.

(d) Results are not guaranteed

Every person and every family is different. We make no promise about the outcome of using the Materials, including any change in how you feel, how you cope, or how anyone else behaves towards you.

(e) Emotional material may surface

Working with family history, boundaries and triggers can bring up strong feelings and difficult memories. If that happens and it does not settle, stop and speak to a qualified professional.

(f) Setting boundaries carries real-world consequences

The boundary scripts and suggested responses are examples only. You know your family and your safety situation; we do not. Use your own judgement about what is safe to say, to whom, and when.

4. This is not an emergency service

• The app does not contact anyone on your behalf. It does not alert us, a helpline, a family member or emergency services under any circumstances.
• Nobody reads your entries. What you type is stored only on your own device and is never sent to us or seen by us. No person or system is monitoring it.
• The app has no notifications, no check-ins and no automated responses.

If you are experiencing abuse, coercion or violence from a family member, please seek help from a domestic violence organisation, a social worker, or the police. Self-help material is not enough for that, and it is not what this bundle is designed for.

5. Who may use the Materials

You must be 18 or older to buy or use the Materials. They are written for adults and deal with adult subject matter, including family conflict and emotional distress. Do not buy or use them on behalf of a person under 18.

6. What you may do (your licence)

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to:

• download, read and keep the eBook and bonuses for your own personal use;
• print a copy for your own use;
• use the app on devices you own or control;
• quote short passages in a review, a post or a conversation, with credit to the title and author.

7. What you may not do

You may not:

• share, forward, email, upload, post or otherwise distribute the eBook, app file, or bonuses to anyone else, including in a WhatsApp group, Facebook group, Telegram channel, Drive folder or file-sharing site;
• resell, sublicense, rent, lend or give away your copy or your access;
• reproduce the Materials in whole or in substantial part, in any medium;
• create derivative works, translations, adaptations, summaries or courses based on the Materials without our written permission;
• use the Materials commercially — including handing them to clients, patients, students or a group you run — without a separate written licence from us. Contact hello@pausehalt.com; we are usually happy to arrange this;
• remove or alter any copyright notice, author name or branding;
• decompile, reverse-engineer or extract source code from the app beyond what is unavoidable when viewing a web page, or use the app's code in your own product;
• use the Materials for anything unlawful, or in any way that harms, harasses or defames another person.

Sharing a digital product is copyright infringement. We take it seriously and may revoke your access without refund and pursue legal remedies.

8. Our intellectual property

All content in the Materials — text, structure, exercises, methods, scripts, names, logos, design and code — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

9. Purchase, delivery and refunds

Price and payment

Prices are shown at checkout in [CURRENCY] and may change at any time before you buy. Payment is handled by [PAYMENT PROCESSOR]. We never see or store your full card details. Your bank may add currency conversion or transaction fees outside our control.

Delivery

The Materials are delivered digitally, normally within a few minutes of successful payment, by email and/or a download link. Nothing is shipped. If your download has not arrived within 24 hours, check your spam folder, then email hello@pausehalt.com and we will resend it.

Access

Download links may expire for security reasons. Please save your files somewhere safe when you receive them. We will re-issue links where we reasonably can, but we do not guarantee permanent hosting or indefinite access.

Refunds

Refunds are returned to the original payment method and may take several business days to appear. We may decline refunds where we reasonably believe a request is fraudulent or the process is being abused, including repeat purchase-and-refund patterns.

If you are a consumer in the EU or UK: you normally have a 14-day right to cancel a purchase of digital content. By buying and downloading the Materials immediately, you request immediate delivery and acknowledge that you lose that cancellation right once download begins. Our voluntary refund policy above still applies in addition to your statutory rights.

10. Your data stays on your device

The app has no accounts, no login, no server and no cloud sync. Anything you type is stored only in your own browser, on your own device. This means:

• we cannot see, recover, restore or delete your entries for you;
• clearing your browser data, using private mode, uninstalling the browser or switching device will erase or hide your entries permanently;
• anyone with access to your unlocked device may be able to open the app and read your entries. If your safety depends on your family not seeing what you write, think carefully before typing anything into it — and use your device's lock screen.

We are not responsible for lost entries. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

11. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the app working and available, but provide it on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every device or browser, or available forever. We may update, change, suspend or discontinue it or any feature at any time; where we discontinue it we will try to give reasonable notice so you can save anything you want to keep. Because the app runs in your browser, its behaviour depends on your device, operating system, browser and settings, all outside our control.

12. Third-party links and services

The Materials may link to third-party websites, helplines, books, tools or services. We include them because we think they may be useful. We do not control them, do not endorse everything they contain, and are not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy, pricing, practices or privacy policies. Your dealings with any third party are between you and them.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Materials are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express, implied or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the information is complete, current, or applicable to your situation, or that using it will produce any particular result.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• (a) We will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for loss of profit, income, data, goodwill, opportunity or anticipated savings, arising out of or connected with the Materials, however caused.
• (b) We will not be liable for any decision you make or action you take, or do not take, based on the Materials — including decisions about your relationships, your family, your living arrangements, your health or your treatment.
• (c) We will not be liable for emotional distress, relationship breakdown, family conflict, or reaction from any other person arising from your use of the Materials.
• (d) Our total aggregate liability for all claims connected with the Materials is limited to the amount you actually paid us for the bundle.
• (e) Nothing here excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, these Terms do not affect your mandatory statutory rights.

15. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss, liability or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Materials, your infringement of our intellectual property, or your infringement of any third party's rights.

16. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your licence and access immediately, without refund, if you materially breach these Terms — in particular by sharing, reselling or redistributing the Materials. You may stop using the Materials at any time; on termination your licence ends and you must delete all copies. Sections 3, 4, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15 and 19 survive termination.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time — for example if the app changes, or the law changes. The current version is always at pausehalt.com/terms, with the "Last updated" date at the top. Changes apply from the date posted, and if you keep using the Materials after that you accept them. Changes will not apply retroactively to a completed purchase where that would be unfair to you.

18. General

Whole agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the Materials, replacing any earlier statements, promises or marketing claims.

Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in force and that provision is applied to the maximum extent permitted.

No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we do not lose it.

Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours to a successor if our business is sold or reorganised, provided your rights are not reduced.

Force majeure. We are not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages, hosting failures, power cuts or acts of government.

19. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Botswana, and the courts of Botswana have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute — except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence where its law gives you that right.
